Executive Board
The Executive Board is composed of students at the University of Miami who organize the team, train its members, facilitate group activities, and act as liaison between the University’s administration, outside agencies, and CERT itself. They are activated first in order to prepare an Incident Action Plan (IAP) and manage resources before the rest of the team arrives.

President
The President serves as the Incident Commander within the CERT Incident Command System during an activation. She supervises the CERT Executive Board, and oversees all activities, drills, and meetings. Additionally, she is constantly in communication with the CERT adviser, UM administrative officials, and outside agencies. The President is responsible for initiating the activation of the CERT.

Administration
Administration maintains team rosters, records minutes at meetings, and monitors attendance of our members are all CERT functions. When the team has been activated, administration works under the Incident Commander, ensuring documentation has been secured and records whereabouts, activities, personnel, and movement of teams responding in the field.

Training
The training division develops and runs the curriculum for all training activities including drills and small-scale exercises. They insure that team members are capable of utilizing all skills within their scope of training. The training staff also helps to maintain a relationship with local law enforcement, fire departments, and the Miami-Dade Office of Emergency Management.

Operations
Our Operations staff coordinates team units during activation, establishes communication between teams and our Incident Command Post staff, and assists in the dissemination of information during activation. They monitor personnel and equipment during an activation, reallocating resources as needed.

Logistics
Our Logistics team makes sure that CERT is ready to be activated at any time. They maintain our supplies and manage our financial resources and grants. Additionally, they provide the team with materials in preparation for an activation and provides our team with support during activation/deployment.

Outreach
Cert Outreach drives in expanding community involvement and enrichment through a variety of events, fundraisers and awareness projects. Outreach is also involved in creating programs for our members in line with our training, medical interests.
