Eboard applications are now open to ALL CERT GENERAL MEMBERS!!

Please submit this online application by FRIDAY, April 13th at 11:59pm. The positions available are: AVP of Administration, AVP of Operations, AVP of Logistics and AVP of Training. To learn more about the sections/positions available, look at our Eboard page! If you would like additional information, please feel free to email any section. You MUST be able to attend weekly Eboard meetings every Monday at 8pm and biweekly general meetings every other Monday at 9pm.

Over the past few months UM has been implementing university-wide NIMS training for all personnel who have a role in disaster response and recovery. These courses are mandatory to complete by the semester’s end. 

All members must go to the following links to complete ICS-100 and ICS-700, interactive web-based courses. When finished, click “Take Final Exam”.

Once you complete the exams, save an electronic copy of your certificates, and then send them to president@umcert.com. The certificates will be saved and placed on file. If we do not receive a copy, then according to us, you did not take the exams!! Each exam takes 2-3 hours so please plan accordingly. 

Once the two courses are complete, you are not mandated to take them again as of February 27, 2012.

 **This is subject to change based on the SOPs (Standard Operating Procedures) that will be set by future presidents

We encourage you to complete as many courses as you would like. If you are interested in a future Eboard role, you are welcome to take ICS-200 and ICS-800, as these two courses are required to hold a position on our executive board.

Hey team,

The Disaster Readiness Exercise is going to be on Saturday, April 16th (don’t worry – it’s not in the morning so you can sleep in!). We need help recruiting volunteers to act as victims for the exercise, so please direct them to our website, where they can register. In exchange, we will provide them with community service hours. Regional Citizen Corps Drill:

Broward County Citizen Corps Council proudly presents the 2011 Regional Drill. The drill will be a one-day event on Saturday, March 26, 2011, between the hours of 8:00AM to 3:00PM at Central Broward Regional Park & Stadium, 3700 NW 11th Place, Lauderhill, Florida 33311. Participating drill members will be able to practice their skills.   There is NO registration fee to participate. Pre-Registration is HIGHLY RECOMMENDED for this drill.  To guarantee your participation, please email your registration form and Hold Harmless and Indemnification Agreement Wavier to Freddy Zelaya Jr. at freddyz@fortlauderdale.gov or fax your registration to 954-828-6709.
